Calendula Extract: Calendula Extract is produced from the calendula flower-heads and is rich in oxygenated monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. Calendula also contains phenol acids, tannins, carotenoids, saponosides, coumarins and polysaccharides (mucilage). Due to its saponin and mucilage content, Calendula has moisturizing properties making it ideal in formulations for dry, irritated or delicate skin. It has long been used topically by herbalists to treat skin ulcers, infected wounds, eczema, varicose veins, and more.
Sunflower Extract: Sunflower oil is derived from the flower native to the southwest United States and has been used in skin care for decades. It contains high levels of linoleic acid, a fatty acid found naturally in our skin’s sebum. Because of its high fatty acid concentration, sunflower oil has great emollient benefits, helping to improve skin barrier function and maintain hydration. Sunflower oil is also thought to have anti-inflammatory properties helping to calm the skin. Sunflower oil quickly absorbs into the skin to deliver a serious dose of hydration.
Aloe Extract: Aloe is one of the most prolific ingredients and recognizable botanical names in all of skin care. In addition to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, aloe vera is a natural source of salicylic acid, assisting with flare-ups of blackheads and whiteheads.
Irish Moss Extract: Irish Sea Moss is rich in sulfur; it contains antibacterial properties that foster a healthy skin microbiome. If you live in a big city or a place with many pollutants, or if your skin is especially prone to breakouts, sea moss might be the tool to managing your acne.
